Heartland Season 20 Confirmed as CBC Sets Fall 2026 Return

After Ty's death, every season has been a holding pattern. Now the writers have to make a call.

Heartland Wins Title of Longest Scripted Series

Heartland Season 20 is official. CBC set a fall 2026 return, and they’re already filming in Alberta. The show has outlasted almost every other TV drama, so the renewal is not a surprise. What’s actually interesting? What happens to Amy Fleming.

Ever since Ty died in Season 14, Heartland hasn’t really moved on. His romance with Amy carried the show for a decade. Nothing else has filled that hole.

Then there’s Nathan Pryce. Every new episode, fans fight about him. It’s not just Nathan—it’s what he stands for. If Amy accepts him, she’s moving on. A lot of people aren’t ready for that.

The show deliberately took its time with Amy and Nathan. Maybe so we wouldn’t feel rushed. Some call it honest storytelling. Others say it’s stalling. Either way, Season 20 has to push forward. Amy’s in her late thirties. Life at the ranch can’t stay frozen.

Can Amy love someone new without betraying Ty’s memory? The pieces are all there. Season 20 will tell us if the writers are actually brave enough to use them.

Best show of ALL TIME. It’s realife as I was Georgie and Amy growing up, Lol. I’m 59 and for past 6 1/2 . months recovering from cellulitis/MRSA , Heartland has saved me from going insane. Love watching and laughing at Tim at Jack, loud drama and Rick is hilarious and I love the scenery, family life I wish people had these days. I can actually see this keep going on for several more years. I would LOVE TO SEE ANOTHER HEARTLAND CHRISTMAS. Heartland cast is PHENOMENAL!

I hope Heartland never ends selfishly. It has got me through many years of taking care of my husband who was terminally ill. It has become my happy place. I never get tired of watching it over and over again. Season 19 didn’t have very many episodes. That makes me sad.
