Heartland Season 20 is happening, and the fan debate is already clear.

CBC has renewed the series for another season, with filming already underway in Alberta ahead of an expected fall 2026 return on CBC and CBC Gem.
This brings us right back to Amy’s most talked-about storyline.
Every time Amy gets close to someone new, people compare them to Ty.
For long-time fans, Ty is not just the guy Amy lost. He is the relationship many viewers still use as the benchmark for every romantic choice the show makes for her.
That is what Nathan is walking into: not a simple love story, but one fans still protect.
Some viewers want Amy to find love again. Others just do not think any relationship after Ty can feel the same.
Now Season 20 has to deal with that split.
If the show puts Amy and Nathan together, it has to acknowledge why Ty still matters. But if it holds back, Amy’s story just stays stuck in grief again.

I hope Heartland never ends selfishly. It has got me through many years of taking care of my husband who was terminally ill. It has become my happy place. I never get tired of watching it over and over again. Season 19 didn’t have very many episodes. That makes me sad.
Best show of ALL TIME. It’s realife as I was Georgie and Amy growing up, Lol. I’m 59 and for past 6 1/2 . months recovering from cellulitis/MRSA , Heartland has saved me from going insane. Love watching and laughing at Tim at Jack, loud drama and Rick is hilarious and I love the scenery, family life I wish people had these days. I can actually see this keep going on for several more years. I would LOVE TO SEE ANOTHER HEARTLAND CHRISTMAS. Heartland cast is PHENOMENAL!
