If you watch Yellowstone, you know Cole Hauser as Rip Wheeler—the guy who’s usually busy being a badass or protecting the ranch. But a recent photo shared by his wife, Cynthia Daniel, shows a side of him that’s a world away from the Dutton ranch.
Cynthia (who you might remember from Sweet Valley High) posted a really sweet picture of Cole with their daughter, Steely Rose. She kept the caption short and simple: “Soulmates.”
It’s a pretty big contrast for fans. On the show, Rip is the guy who says about ten words an episode and looks like he hasn’t slept in a week. In real life, Cole looks totally relaxed and, honestly, like a huge softie.
Cole and Cynthia have been married since 2006—and they have three kids: Ryland, Colt, and Steely Rose. While they usually keep their family life private, they’ll occasionally share a glimpse of what things look like off camera. Cole has mentioned before how hard it is to balance those long filming stretches with being a present dad, so these moments clearly mean a lot to them.
Even his Yellowstone co-star Kelly Reilly (Beth Dutton) jumped into the comments to call the photo “gorgeous.” Cole wrote back, “Love ya my darlin,” which is exactly the kind of wholesome interaction fans love to see.
The best part? Cole has openly said his daughter basically runs the house. He told Drew Barrymore a while back that he has a much harder time saying “no” to Steely than to his sons. Cynthia even joked that Steely has him completely “wrapped around her finger.”
Just a good reminder that even the toughest guy on TV is really just a regular dad.
