From childhood ranch to beach ceremony, love knows no bounds for Mark Harmon's son
Mark Harmon, who plays Gibbs on NCIS, doesn't like to talk about his personal life. Even though he is a well-known and famous actor, not much is known about his life away from the camera. And his family feels the same way about the fame of their father. They don't use social media much and are rarely seen.
Mark is used to being in the public eye. He is the son of well-known sportscaster Tom Harmon and actress Elyse Knox. But even his famous parents were very private, and the star said he didn't know they were famous until he was almost eight years old.
What little is known about the Harmons comes from what they have freely told people. Mark didn't start out wanting to be an actor. That's something everyone knows. But because Ozzie Nelson told him to try it, he did. Mark has been honest about many things, including how he met his wife, Pam Dawber.
Both of them knew exactly what they wanted in a partner. He wanted something deep, while she was looking for a man who was strong, smart, and caring. Mark and Pam would meet the person they were looking for at a party for a friend they both knew in 1986.
During the night, the two ran into each other and got along great. They started going out together, and after about a year, they chose to live together. Not long after that, they had two boys and named them Sean Christian Harmon and Ty Christian Harmon.
Pam was in a few small shows at the time, like "Mork and Mindy" and "My Sister Sam." But she didn't plan to become an actress after her boys were born. She quit her job so she could take care of her family as a stay-at-home mom.
In the meantime, it was becoming clear that Mark would do well as an actor. The Harmons' lives were going well, and they spent as much time as they could with their boys. Sean's first steps happened while the actor was on set, and he thought, "No job is worth missing life's most important moments."
Both Ty and Sean Harmon chose to go into show business. Ty wanted to write scripts, while Sean wanted to act. Fans recently got a rare look into the private life of the Harmons when Mark's oldest son got married to his girlfriend.
A Happy Day for the Harmons
Sean, Mark's son, went to an art show in Santa Monica on December 1, 2016. He wasn't interested in the art. He was interested in something else. Sean fell in love with Courtney Prather the moment he saw her in the hall. He worked up the courage to go up to her. They elaborated:
“Sean clocked Courtney the minute he walked in the door, and after a drink (or two) finally worked up the courage to approach her. Despite her best attempts to resist, he offered her a ride home, asked for her number and the rest is history!”
Sean is not the only one of the two who has something to brag about. Courtney is also a pretty well-known person because of her fitness-teaching videos on the YouTube site BeFit. The newest member of the Harmon family is also a model who has been published abroad and is the face of several fitness brands.
Sean asked Courtney to be his wife after they had been together for five years. The two told the story of how the proposal came as a surprise in the news about their wedding. All of it took place at a horse camp that Sean had been going to since he was a kid. After doing a number of things, Sean surprised everyone at the end of the day:
“Courtney begged to ride bikes out to the north pasture to visit the herd. Little did she know, Sean had other plans and while she was distracted by the horses and the sunset, turned around to find Sean, with a bottle of wine and a small box; down on one knee…”
Mark's horse was in the picture, and the couple popped open a bottle of wine to celebrate their marriage. They also took some photos to remember the event, and Courtney wrote "A million times YES" as a caption for each one. In the pictures, the happy couple is showing off the ring, and Sean's dad's horse is looking good.
In the end, Courtney and Sean got married in Nosara, Costa Rica, between November 9 and November 13, 2022, in front of their family and friends.
