Cole Hauser has spent years playing one of the toughest men on Yellowstone, but a family photo shared by his wife, Cynthia Daniel, showed fans a much softer side of the actor.
Daniel, a photographer and former Sweet Valley High actress, posted a sweet picture of Hauser with their daughter, Steely Rose. The image showed the father and daughter sharing a close moment, and Daniel kept the caption simple: “Soulmates.”
For fans who know Hauser mostly as Rip Wheeler, the photo offered a different kind of glimpse. On Yellowstone, Rip is usually the man who says little, carries too much, and protects the Dutton ranch with a hard edge. Away from the screen, Hauser’s family life looks much warmer and more grounded.
Hauser and Daniel have been married since 2006 and share three children: Ryland, Colt, and Steely Rose. The couple has generally kept their family life private, though they occasionally share family moments online. People has reported that Hauser has often spoken about balancing work with being present for his wife and children, especially during long filming stretches.
The photo also caught the attention of Hauser’s Yellowstone co-star Kelly Reilly, who plays Beth Dutton opposite Hauser’s Rip. Reilly commented, “Gorgeous,” adding a heart emoji. Hauser also responded in the comments, writing, “Love ya my darlin.”
It was a small exchange, but that was part of the appeal. Fans are used to seeing Hauser as the loyal, dangerous ranch hand who would do almost anything for Beth and the Duttons. The father-daughter picture showed something simpler: a dad enjoying a moment with his daughter, far away from the violence and pressure of the show that made him a household name.
Hauser has also joked before that his daughter has a special hold on him. During an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show, he admitted that he has a much harder time saying no to Steely than he does with his sons, while Cynthia has said their daughter has him “wrapped around her finger.”
That makes Daniel’s caption feel even more fitting. To fans, it was just one sweet family photo. To the Hausers, it looked like something more familiar: a father and daughter who clearly have their own little world.
