NCIS Stays in the Family: Diona Reasonover Debuts as Writer, Praised by Mark Harmon

Fans concerned about Mark Harmon's reduced role on NCIS can relax. Diona Reasonover, who plays Kasie, revealed in interviews that Mark remains actively involved, though in a behind-the-scenes capacity.

"There was some worry, myself included," she told ET about the new season. "It's our first one without our amazing leader...but it's also been exciting to develop new characters and relationships, and adjust to these changes."

Diona reassured fans that "Mark is still very much involved as an executive producer. He even visits the set sometimes. He actually stopped by to tell me how much he liked the script I wrote, which was so kind."

Reasonover echoed this sentiment in another interview: "Mark came to tell me he loved the script," she said, likely referring to her writing debut. "Maybe that wasn't the only reason for his visit, but I'm going to choose to believe it was."

"He probably had other things to do," she continued, "but he came by anyway. We got to chat, catch up, and hug, which was fantastic. So, Mark's definitely still present. He sees every script, remains an executive producer, and continues to act like one."
